The
New Jersey Council for the Humanities created Ideas at Work
to offer companies and their employees a forum for thought and dialogue
on a wide array of humanities subjects. For more than a decade,
Ideas at Work has been turning the ordinary lunch into something
extraordinary. In the time it takes to eat lunch, employees get
a generous serving of fresh ideas and new perspectives. For $500
per session, businesses and corporations can choose from the established
list of speakers
or contact us to tailor a program that fits your specific needs.
Ideas
at work programs offer audiences the opportunity to explore and
learn about other cultures, hearing their stories, reading their
histories, seeing their art. The programs invite participants to
discuss questions of identity, of diversity, of commonality. Many
companies take advantage of Ideas at Work to recognize a timely
topic, such as Black History Month, Native American Month, Hispanic
Heritage Month, or Women's History Month.
Ideas
at Work has reached over 12,000 New Jersey employees in its first
decade. Its programs have taken place at many of the state's major
businesses and corporations including Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Johnson
& Johnson, Prudential Financial, Beneficial and McMaster-Carr.
