Justice and Civil Society in the Muslim World

  cultural understanding of the Muslim world by examining the work of women’s movements,

  Seven-part lecture series on the experiences of ordinary people during the U.S. Civil War,

Spinning Gold: The Roebling Company and the History of the Golden Gate Bridge

  Exhibit exploring the Roebling Company’s historic contributions to the construction of the

  Golden Gate Bridge, to be hosted as part of a nationwide celebration of the bridge’s 75th

  Public conversation considering the origins of World War II from an Asian perspective, taking

  the Japanese invasion of Manchuria in 1931 as a starting point.

Voices from the Golden Age of RCA: A Workforce Oral History Project

  Students from Camden High School will work with scholars and CCHS staff to collect oral histories

  from RCA employees.  The oral histories are to be archived at CCHS, used in the creation of a

  public program, included on a student-created website, and integrated into a future museum display

  at CCHS.

Katherine Mangiardi: Reflected Absence

  Creation of a contemporary art exhibit that explores the lives of women in two historic mills and

  the impact of technology on mill workers.  Public components include a public panel discussion

President Lincoln and the Sawyers of Cape May

The East Lynne Theater Company (West Cape May)

  A four-part program exploring the relationship between Abraham Lincoln and the Cape May Civil

  War hero Henry Sawyer.  The program includes the screening of a short documentary, a staged

  reading, a discussion of the documentary, and a presentation about the history of Lincoln and

  Sawyer.

 

Slavery & the Law in New Jersey

  A lunch-time lecture program featuring two guest speakers.  An exhibit relating to Lincoln, slavery,
