Grant Program in Brief - Major & Mini Grants

• Grants are awarded in support of public humanities projects

• Registered NJ nonprofit organizations and government agencies operating within NJ are

eligible to apply

• Major grants of up to $20,000 are awarded twice a year

• Mini grants of up to $3,000 are awarded four times a year

• First time applicants with limited staffs that might benefit from the assistance of a

humanities scholar in developing a public humanities project may request funding for a

planning mini grant.

• NJCH has a special interest in funding projects that address the Council's theme of

Justice

• A draft narrative and budget must be submitted at least one month prior to the application

deadline for review

• All drafts and applications must be submitted online
