Click here to return to the Project Examples Homepage.

Applicants should include a plan, specific to their projects, that will allow them to assess the realization of their goals, the quality of their project’s humanities content, the effectiveness of scholars, key project personnel, and project administration, and their success in reaching their target audiences.

The evaluation will determine whether the stated goals were achieved, but in a greater sense will seek to ascertain the overall impact the Festival had on its constituents, including the general public, presenters, and the University community.  At each event, attendances will be noted, and evaluation forms will be distributed and collected.  Festival Planning Committee members will meet with each of the participants after their presentations to receive their feedback.  The Committee will meet during the course of the Festival to assess and discuss programs as they take place and take corrective action, if necessary.

The effectiveness of the site will be measured in the following ways.  An advisory panel of humanities professors and scholars will evaluate the humanities content.  After the site has been launched and publicized, site traffic data from the server log will be periodically analyzed, e.g. the volume of visitors, number of pages visited, amount of time spent on the website, most frequently viewed pages, entry and exit websites, which terms are used to locate the site and navigate within it, and which browsers are most frequently used to find the website.  This information will help refine copy to incorporate frequently used search engine terms.  User comments (guest comment section) will be an ongoing feedback mechanism and will help us gauge functionality, accessibility, and fulfillment of visitor expectations.
